Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed designs for piping systems and technical documentation for pipelines and equipment.
• Preparing material take-offs and execution standards in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of technical documentation.
• Cooperating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the correct execution of projects.
• Participating in the analysis and resolution of technical issues at all stages of project implementation, in cooperation with the client.

Requirements

• Higher technical education (preferred fields: mechanical engineering, machine design, chemical engineering or related disciplines).
• Experience as an Assistant Design Engineer or in a similar role related to industrial installation design would be an advantage.
• Practical knowledge of AutoCAD; experience with Plant 3D or SmartPlant 3D will be an additional advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and engineering drawings.
• Communicative command of English, both spoken and written.
• Ability to cooperate effectively with representatives of various engineering disciplines.
• Strong organisational skills, independence, attention to detail and responsibility for assigned tasks.

BPR ASE GROUP Sp. z o.o. invites students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology to apply for an unpaid student internship in the Mechanical Engineering Department.

We are part of ASE GROUP in Gdańsk and specialise in the design, supervision and implementation of installations and facilities for the oil, petrochemical, chemical and gas industries. We also develop modern environmentally friendly technologies, including solutions related to hydrogen and cogeneration.

We work in a BIM environment, and our Mechanical Engineering Department uses AutoCAD Plant 3D on a daily basis.

Your responsibilities:

• Developing process concepts, feasibility studies and Basic Design documentation for process and energy installations.
• Preparing process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Performing mass and energy balances as well as process calculations.
• Defining process parameters and technological assumptions for projects.
• Selecting technologies and key process equipment, including pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, compressors and cogeneration systems.
• Preparing technical descriptions, specifications and design guidelines for cooperating engineering disciplines.
• Participating in the preparation of documentation for environmental decisions and techno-economic analyses.
• Coordinating multidisciplinary activities with project teams, including mechanical, structural, electrical and instrumentation & control disciplines.
• Providing technical support during project execution, commissioning and start-up.

• Providing technical supervision and guidance to junior engineers.

Our requirements:

• Higher technical education in chemical engineering, power engineering, environmental engineering or a related field.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in the design of process or energy installations.
• Experience in preparing conceptual and Basic Design documentation.
• Very good knowledge of process engineering principles.
• Ability to prepare PFD and P&ID diagrams.
• Knowledge of technologies used in the energy sector or industrial installations, as well as applicable regulations and design standards.
• Knowledge of the principles of contractual correspondence and project execution procedures in accordance with construction law requirements and engineering and construction practice.
• Very good knowledge of process engineering, including the ability to select technologies and assess and specify key process equipment, taking into account available market solutions.
• Communicative command of English.
• Diligence, teamwork skills and independence in managing design-related tasks.

• Knowledge of the BIM 360 environment.

• Preparing design documentation at every stage of project implementation: concept, basic design, and detailed design, in the field of industrial equipment.
• Performing strength calculations for pressure equipment and devices.
